This craft has two versions: a female penguin craft with eyelashes and a pink bow, and a male penguin (eyes without big lashes) and a blue bow tie. Did you know it’s actually the male penguin that holds the egg on its feet the entire time? This craft is great for learning about penguins or for use as puppets during winter reading time!
Let’s dive into the penguin craft step-by-step instructions:
1. Print out your penguin craft template and gather your craft supplies.

2. Color the penguin as shown in the picture or choose your own colors. You can even try adding some shine to it with glitter markers!

3. Cut out the shapes with adult supervision and child-safe scissors. If your child is not ready for cutting yet, you can cut out the shapes for them.
Alternatively, roughly cut to separate all shapes so the child can easily cut one piece at a time without worrying about running the scissors over other shapes. This is helpful, as the craft pieces are very closely placed together to save paper, and some kids may find it challenging to cut them.

4. Now your craft pieces are ready for your child to assemble.

5. Start with the tiny sample picture given on the corner of the craft page to see how to put your penguin craft together. Alternatively, you can also try changing their pose (e.g., open arms calling for a hug, or peek-a-boo pose, etc.).
Glue your craft together.

6. Add clothing accessories of your choice to your penguin craft. Choose from hats and bows.

7. You can glue your craft to a page inside an art book or on a blank card, too!

8. Your penguin craft is ready for play! Use it for story time or for winter-themed classroom wall or bulletin decor.
