You don’t have to make your life complicated and dull as a stay-at-home mother (SAHM). You need a life of your dreams. And you need a step by step guide to reaching that dream life. Once I decided to start a blog, I saw almost all of my dreams becoming achievable.
Unless you’re already absolutely content with your days and don’t want to know or already have all the benefits a successful blogging lifestyle can give you like the ones listed below, you need to keep reading.

28 Reasons You Need to Start A Blog Today
1. Most Affordable Biz to Start
Think, if you had to start any physical business? How much would you have to invest? As for blogging, you can even make it work with a bare minimum of around $3 – 4/mo. That’s only the price of one coffee per 30 days. That is not to say you can’t put in money if you want to invest in education to make money with your blog or better blog graphics etc.
The point is, you can make your blog work for you even with the bare minimum and later on, as your blog starts providing for itself, you can invest what you require or like.
2. No More Money Worries
If you have the courage to make your blog work for you, it will be so worth it. Imagine a life of no financial worries. And just for a sec. imagine all that you can do when you have a comfortable account back in the bank.
3. You Never Have To Leave Your Kids Home For A Job
A lot of times, we have to support our husbands to bring in two salaries to be able to run this house. But how awesome would that be if you could earn as much as you liked without stepping a foot outside and not missing on any special moments of their childhood without rushing through them?
I wish my son’s early months could just wind back so I can play a little more with him and be around all the time to see each of his first-time moves, when in fact I had to spend most of it outside. And I’d only be available for him all worn out at the end of my day.
4. Hubby Can Team Up With You…& Quit His Job!
How about not just you, but the hubs staying home too? That would mean he could help you half and half with your blogging, you both make an awesome team. The kids grow up in a rich homely atmosphere and everyone is well provided for. Win win win!
My hubby says he’ll join me once I reach the $1k/mo. milestone consistently across 3 months. By then I’ll definitely need his help more to manage bloggy stuff better. I aim to do this before the year ends.
5. You Can Homeschool Your Child
I’ve always wanted for my kiddo a one on one teaching. IF you make your blog provide for you, then you’ll easily be able to manage to stay home with your child and give him the best education that he deserves.
6. Connect With People From All Over The World
In the beginning, I was too scared to mail anyone I didn’t know. But blogging stretches your boundaries. It has built my confidence as I talked to people while questioning, answering or otherwise commenting. It taught me so much about the beauty of human race, everyone is so different.
I came across people who are kind beyond your imagination, just one instance of contact will bless you.
And I also got to converse with people would pierce through you from so far away.
I have grown mature with every interaction. Experience has made me a tad bit better in dealing with people.
And I also found out, that there is more love and kindness on the ‘other side’ than hate.
And also that moms everywhere are all going through the same stuff, girl!
7. Make New Friends
This is one of the biggies I’m enjoying since my very early blog life. Just as you connect with a lot of people from around the world, some of them become your friends. Like you’re meant to be friends, you instantly connect when you start a conversation with such people.
Just this weekend I connected with a sweet bigger blogger who I’m in awe of. She made me feel so much awesome.
(She has +32k followers on Pinterest… me 1.4k!). And once you make friends, you help each other grow their biz too! This is a bonus.
Her time and encouragement meant so much to me.
And when I connect with other like-minded peeps, I feel a less lonely in my blog journey which, otherwise does make you feel all on your own with no one to talk to about your problems and small victories.
Once you make friends, you also help each other grow their biz too! And this one is a bonus.
8. Get Yourself Tamed!
Throughout my entire life, I’ve been so wild with my routines. I have chased missed school vans and university buses my entire study life.
I’m just too tough to discipline other than by what comes from within. And blogging is just that. When you see your lack of discipline is costing you $$, I swear you work.
When you see your lack of discipline is costing you $$, I swear you work.
Blogging has made me so much of a better person. I have come to this realization that I can balance the workload of bringing in money if I discipline my days into workable schedules.
Also, all of a sudden, I’ve become way more practical and definitely more positive. If my writing sucks, I don’t back off, I know I need to do more. IF my
If my writing sucks, I don’t back off, I know I need to write more. If my graphics suck, I don’t feel bad, I just get myself into a learning more, studying those with better ones and hunting learning opportunities.
Omg, and this too: I have learned to take criticism (for now just online!)
9. Build Confidence
I haven’t been a very shy person about expressing my opinion but there are many skills where blogging builds your confidence including growing into a better writer. And carrying a set of skills does make you walk a little taller.
Not to be boastful, I respect the opportunities blogging has brought to me when someone sees me as a knower and comes to me for a suggestion.
And although I’m an expert by no means, know this that there always will be people who know a bit less who will look up to you for help. Those are the ones you want to help.
Those are your peeps!
10. Improve Health
Gaah this one is a bit of a reverse mechanism. In fact, my friend blogging makes you fat.
And over time, when you sit too much in front of your laptop with a hunch and your eyes a-poppin’ over the screen, you get brain fog and stuff of the sort. But then if you didn’t blog, you’d lose
But then if you didn’t blog, you’d lose money, right?
So… eventually, blogging has forced me to keep to my yoga and aerobic investments. If I do these, I can blog better, and if I blog better, I earn more. hence I stick to the
Hence I stick to staying fit by eating and doing what helps me blog well.
11. Strengthen Will Power
All the reasons to start a blog mentioned in this post have actually helped me stick to my grounds to make blogging work for me.
Even when I wasn’t taken seriously.
The desire for these outcomes keeps me moving my way ahead and never do I feel like giving up no matter how tired or sleepless or mind boggled I get.
12. Fulfill Your Dreams
If your dreams are money dependent like mine then imagine where your blog success after a year could place you if you start a blog today. I think this entire list is pretty much my dreams. And I will update once I accomplish each. Whoop, you’re (virtually) watching me now.
I think this entire list is pretty much my wish list. And I will update once I accomplish each.
And you’re (virtually) watching me now #accountability alert.
(See how my blog is helping me stay committed to my dreams even beyond monetary ways?)
13. Help Others
On the orientation day back in the uni., our teacher asked us about our life goals and when I shared mine, one of ’em ended up being a collective stare. I’ll never forget that.
That stare-driving goal is:
To sponsor 20 children at an orphanage.
I don’t know where the 20 came from, but I badly want to make my blog work for this reason alone. Especially because as weird as it seems, I gotta do this.
I know a blog has the potential and I’ve seen people like this one end up becoming philanthropists with their blog.
With a blog, you can do this too. (Or whatever your lifelong desire to help others is.)
14. Support Family
You can support the sick or financially unstable loved ones in your family once you’re making good money on your blog.

15. Become a Better Writer aka Clear Headed
You don’t have to be a perfect writer to blog, (but you can’t blog if you hate writing!) but as you force yourself to go on creating content, going bluuuurrrgggh when re-reading your stuff after a month or so, polishing it, you’ll eventually become a better writer.
And you’ll see as you grow your writing muscles, your thinking muscles will tone up simultaneously. That’sbecausee you’d be consistently putting your thought into black and white. And this is scientifically proved to help mental health.
16. Get Surprises
Blogging will give you more surprises than your sweetest husband. Promise!
Emails about payments rolling, comments and emails of appreciation or thank you’s from your peeps, collaboration opportunities from fellow bloggers, I just love checking my email every day, and seriously it’s the first thing I do as I wake up. (bad habit!)
17. Learn From Experiences
You start simple. You just know how to use the internet and you know how to type letters.
But only with these two basic skills, blogging takes you far and beyond. People think I’m a computer expert because I have a ‘website’. I design it like I want and I’m making money sitting in my PJs.
18. Be Yourself
You know how awful it feels when you have to pretend to be someone you’re not?
That’s not what happens with blogging. Even if you’re writing on a topic which a hundred bloggers are already talking about, you have your own take on it. And even if your perspective matches another one, the way YOU will put it forward is uniquely yours.
And ‘it’s not logical but (the) psychological’ connection that matters. You’ll find people who resonate with YOUR vibes. There are just so many people out there in the world and who knows someone’s just waiting to hear what you have to say.
19. Teach The Strugglers
Someone who is at a point in life where you were yesterday can benefit from what you gotta tell her.
I’m not saying you must be a winner for this.
Maybe you can share about how to cope with the struggles you want to help your peeps with.
20. Find Support For Your Life Struggles Too
Once you connect with people of your kind and interests in the blogging community, you’ll not only be a source of support for them but also vice versa. You’ll feel more fulfilled with these like-minded people whose connection will cheer you.
21. Work From ANYWHERE!
If you give blog business a go, then you’re not bound to any physical location. Your office is wherever your laptop and internet is. Do it during vacations from the other part of the world, or from home, no worries. And no wasting getting ready for work and commute time which is anywhere around 1.5 hours daily (45 hours/mo. yikes!).

22. Schedule Work Around YOUR Comfort
With blogging, you only have to go as fast as you want to. You’re not bound to anything except the schedule you make for yourself to work your blog.
I personally think blogging is so much fun, including me people to it whenever they get free time. But you can set a set amount of time, even one hour daily whenever you’re most comfortable and there’s no blog police to hunt you down for that.
And there are schedulers and responders for every bloggy posting thing too. If your audience is active at a particular time, you don’t have to be on your laptop right then.
Just put your blog posts and marketing content on auto postings so your peeps get to read your stuff when they want.
You can even do a month’s work at a time and take the entire next month off!
Seen this anywhere else?
23. Learn More About What YOU Like
When you’ll pick a topic for your blog, to produce content on a regular basis on that topic you’ll educate yourself which in itself is so much fun.
That’s why I steered my writing into a bloggy topic.
I loved and enjoyed doing it so much, I wanted to learn everything about it.
So the best way to do that was to start teaching it to others as I went on learning.
24. Get to Talk About What YOU Like
You can choose to write about any… I mean annnyyyyyyy thing you like talking about on your blog.
Lena from WhtMommyDoes.com writes about seven different topics and makes above $10k/mo.
It’s not like a 9 to 5 where you have to do so many things regardless.
And with the right plan of action, you can make money writing about a topic of your own choice.
25. Get More Eye Balls On Your Skills
And if you choose to write about a skill you have expertise in, let’s say sewing, people looking for an expert will offer to hire you for your expertise. They’ll know who to contact when expert advice or service is required. So your blog will become your portfolio.
Did you see how each of the benefits attracted the next one?
26. Get To Shop EVERYTHING You Ever Wanted
27. Can BE The Best (Presents Giver) Aunt For Nephews/Nieces
Seriously this one’s a biggie! You know the power of this if you have any siblings’ kiddos to answer to.
28. Can Fulfill Your Parents’ Dreams
My parents don’t expect me to fulfill their lifelong desires but I know once I have the money, I can do that. And this is one of the biggest motivations for me to work continuously to make my blog succeed. I’ve put an IFTTT reminder to email me the life goals I have written down for myself daily and I’ve made it compulsory for myself to read them.
All these things mean a lot to me and I’m ready to put in what it takes today to enjoy all this tomorrow. Honestly, I think it’s almost dumb if you have a functional brain, a PC, and the internet and you don’t make a blog work for you. I’m so happy and thankful to those who share their adventures in blogging with us as a source of guidance.
