Staying at home is a privilege, not every desiring mom gets.
Thankfully gone are the days when I would cry in the car back seat for leaving my baby home. But little did I know the mountain that stood in front of me once I became a stay at home mom.

I realized very early on that:
I never stayed home my entire life before this!
So I needed help but every time I called mom to ask anything, she lost patience with me.
(How was I to know ‘saute onion’ meant thinly slicing one medium onion, in one tbsp oil in a pan on medium-low flame for about 15 minutes.)
I needed a dummies guide to homemaking.
My researcher (and procrastinator) mind got me digging into tons of resources so I could pick the best and easiest and fastest ways to learn more about doing stuff at home.
I collect/hoard all.the.things (think anti-minimalist) till I find my perfect one. The list below is ONLY the things I narrowed down from a variety of things I used or scoured across the internet for days before picking the best.
And I have come to love and regularly use these in my day to day life.
I’m sharing these all with you in the list below.
Here are resources to help you in different areas of your home life.
My favorite productivity resources
Living Well Planner: I can’t run normally without my beautiful planner. Everything that is important goes into it. Meals, my blog goals, budget, self-care, and anything that I really want to get done. I have no regret even when I pay an arm and a leg for international shipping. It’s not just a whole life planner, it comes with a pack of productivity video pieces of training for moms and printables for practice before you can start using it. I got one for my dad and sister too. I promise the picture is nothing like holding it in the hands. You can read some more about how I use this planner to get more done here.
Sticky Notes: I use a combination of the regular yellow sticky notes with the fancy ones. I set my top priorities of the week in this weekly planning sticky sheet so I stay focused. I usually keep it inside my planner because I keep my planner open on the side of my bed or desk at all times, but sometimes I put it on the door or in the kitchen so the most important tasks stay in my sight. The next one, I don’t use every day because that can get expensive but I do take out my sticky daily focus sheet only when it is a very serious work mode day and I’m going all gung-ho on staying focused. I love to cross off tasks on the sheet as I accomplish them.
Rhythms, Rhymes & Routines Book: I refer to this ebook every time I’m struggling with my children’s routine. These are sample routines plus lots of great tips for small kids of various age groups and sibling combinations. It helped me especially I got back from the hospital with my baby and was struggling to fall into some sort of pattern without overlooking my personal needs and especially the baby’s. Her sleeping and eating habits change every few months and that’s when I always take out this ebook.
Make Over Your Mornings Course: This course can change your life. It’s not about waking up early. Crystal Paine, the instructor has a mega large following, a super sweet family, homeschooled kids, she’s well maintained and reads more than a dozen books every month. Clearly, she is using her times differently. This course is one of the most popular courses I’ve seen online with thousands of happy students who are moms like us.
Motivational & Inspirational Resources
Do It Scared Book: I love everything Ruth Soukup has to say. The proof is in my receipts. I love collecting products from her because she’s a super motivated person who keeps growing and I know that success germs are contagious. (According to the fear assessment, I’m a rule-following, procrastinating people pleaser! Learn which kind of fear keeps you stuck.) I also signed up for the DIS private coaching program which helps me stay motivated. We do weekly planning there and hold each other accountable. I used to struggle with following through on my goals after my baby #2 but this community has at least doubled the amount of work I get done on my blog esp.
Here’s my complete reading list for 2020.
Do It Scared Band: This band has magical powers to transform you, seriously. I got it right after I had my second unplanned c-section. It helped me keep pushing forward. Sadly, my son bit the rubber and broke it. I will order more for myself and a few family members who could use an extra push.
Mom & Homemaking resources
Milkology: This course was like having a lactation consultant guide you through every step of the way. I just wish I had found this course before my daughter came so I could also do the things she recommends doing in the first hours after her birth. And even more so, I wish I knew everything I learned from this course before my first baby was born. I couldn’t continue feeding him for long – simply because I didn’t get proper education about lactation. Plus you get super-awesome bonuses.
Helpful Phrases: If your child won’t listen, refuses to participate in age-appropriate chores, is picky at the dinner table, or when your child fights bedtime, don’t do anything, just use these science-backed, short, powerful yet respectful phrases to affect your child positively. You will thank me for this!
Potty Train In A Weekend EBook: My son was potty trained within a week of reading this book before I even finished it. I trained him super late because I thought he wasn’t ready when I was missing all the clear signs. Over 10,000 moms have benefited from this book so far. The author trained each of her four children within three days so she knows her onions.
Ultimate Cleaning Guide: This is a resource book for dummies as much as for experts. It has everything from room-by-room checklists, to cleaning schedules and tasks divided across days, weeks, months and the year. I take it out every time it’s deep cleaning time. DIY cleaning recipes, your cleaning schedule, supply list, cleaning motivation, chore cards, checklists, and whatnot. I LOVE this guide. The printables and cheatsheets alone are worth more than the cost of the entire product. It’s a steal for the price.
The Ultimate Resource…
The ultimate resource you have at hand is your time and your energy. You could have all the time but no energy to even come out of the bed or vice versa. So the best thing to keep an eye on is how smartly you use the amount of time and energy you have been given. Happy homemaking, friend!
